This is the place for those looking for a more stylish and upscale place to eat.
Téchné is located in a former boat factory a good 10-minute walk from the port on the promenade that leads to the beaches. The indoor décor is somewhat vintage, but for a more romantic setting you should pick one of the tiered-terrace tables under pine and palm trees.
Beside its attractive look, the restaurant offers a real change from traditional Greek cuisine. Starters include baked manouri cheese with figs and orange dressing, delicately grilled sardine fillets with a fresh tomato and caper dressing and crispy calamari with sweet chili dressing. Mains extend to hylopítes (Greek pasta) with Cretan bacon, tomatoes, olives and local cheese or pork loin with grilled feta-polenta. The wine list is extensive and there is also a selection of Greek microbrew beers.
